Moscato is a sweet, effervescent white or rosé wine with a low alcohol concentration that complements sweets and appetisers beautifully. It differs from some of the other wines given that it has a lower alcohol content and is carbonated as well as fragrant in character. It's created from the Muscat grape, a culinary grape that's also used to make raisins, and it usually tastes like juicy peaches, orange blossom, and nectarine. This sweet wine has a modest alcohol content (between 5 and 7 percent ABV) and a pleasant tasting note that elevates it above the status of merely a dessert wine. Moscato is produced with a little percentage of carbon dioxide to make it bubbly, which sets it apart from most wines. It has a sweetness because carbon dioxide prevents the sugar from completely turning into alcohol.
